Kilimanjaro Climbing Agency — local Tanzania team

About Us

Kilimanjaro Climbing Agency

A local Tanzanian company — born near the mountain, built around your summit.

Who we are

Tanzania-owned. Mountain-focused. Built for your summit.

Kilimanjaro Climbing Agency (KCA) is a fully registered Tanzanian tour and safari operator, headquartered in Moshi — the gateway town at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. We are not a foreign booking platform or a middleman. We are a local team that lives and works in the shadow of Africa's highest peak, and that proximity gives us an advantage that no overseas agency can match.

We plan and operate guided Kilimanjaro treks, Mount Meru climbs, Tanzania wildlife safaris and Zanzibar beach add-ons. Every climb is staffed by our own KINAPA-registered guides and trained mountain crew, and every decision we make — from route selection to daily camp health checks — is guided by one priority: getting you to the top safely.

Over the years we have built a 98%+ summit success rate by pairing climb-high, sleep-low acclimatisation itineraries with guides who genuinely care. The people who climb with us come back — and they send their friends.

Our guides

Experienced, certified and deeply familiar with every trail

Our mountain team is led by Evarest Justin, a seasoned chief guide with years of Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru experience. He is supported by Laurean Basso and Daniel Kivuyo, both KINAPA-registered guides trained in wilderness first aid, mountain rescue and the ecology of Kilimanjaro National Park.

All KCA guides speak fluent English and carry the knowledge to read altitude symptoms early, adjust pace when needed, and keep every climber confident from the first forest camp to Uhuru Peak. Small guide-to-client ratios mean your team knows you by name — not by tent number.

Evarest Justin

Chief Guide. Patient, deeply knowledgeable and personally invested in every client's success on the mountain.

Laurean Basso

Climbing Guide. KINAPA-registered, trained in first aid and mountain rescue, expert on Kilimanjaro flora and fauna.

Daniel Kivuyo

Climbing Guide. Calm, experienced and fluent in English — keeps every climb steady and well-paced at altitude.

Plan your timing

When to climb Kilimanjaro

Kilimanjaro can be climbed year-round — here is what each season feels like.

January to March

Dry and quiet. Generally warm and dry after the short rains and away from the high season — one of our favourite times to climb.

April and May

Long rainy season. Wetter and more unpredictable, but you can have the mountain almost to yourself — good discounts are usually available.

June to early November

Dry but busy. The driest months; August to October is very busy. June, July and early November are quieter compromises.

November to mid-December

Short rainy season. Usually 3–4 weeks of lighter rain — a good time to be on the mountain without the crowds.
